Mods added for this season:
-Hygear Sport X package
-Hygear torsion spring spacer
-C&A xtx skis installed with spacers in stock location
-Bergstrom 8" tripple points
-Tour Buddy Aux tank

The compression and rebound for the front were set in the middle and the compression on both rear shocks were in the middle. Limiter strap and transfer rods were in stock location. The rear torsion bar was set to medium.

The front top tender springs have only one 1/2" spacer and have 10mm of preload and the center spring also has 10 mm of preload

The tour buddy fuel tank worked just as it said. Installation was a pita and the mouting holes didn't line up. Filling it up was simple and it transfered flawlessly.

The tripple points... worlds best carbide, nuff said

The torsion spring spacers worked as I was able to keep the torsion spring at med instead of hard.

Now about the handling, holy crap. This is how the nytro should have handled from the factory.

Off trail: The front end stays up on top much easier. The front end does not get sucked into the powder when you are riding half on a broken trail/ half fluff trying to make it wider. When you are on fresh powder the front end doesn't dive when off throttle. The track now just trenches itself, but I was able to get outa the hole because it did not have to push the front through the snow.

On trail: This is how the nytro should have handled from the factory. It still handles like a nytro with all its inherent trails, just dialed way back with far less push and ski lift. You still have to get up on the front, but when you do she rails on the corners. In the groomed trails with loose on top or mealy snow on top the front end bites and the back end rotates much better. Only on the real hard pack does start to push/tip and go back to stock nytro like handling traits. Also when I get on it I can feel the front biting too hard and the back almost spins to gain grip.

I think all thats needed is a track with a bit more forward bite and less lateral bite and it will handle perfectly. It takes the stutter bumps much smoother and does not bottom on the hard stuff. I came around a corner too hot and got it up on one ski and there also happened to be a bunch of small 8"-12" bumps right on the corner. I thought I was going to blow the corner but it took the corner all on one ski perfectly.

I don't think I needed the full sport x package, but I'd say the springs are a bare minimum and the revalve was worth the money.

The only other evidence I have is to compare how I rode with a friend vs last year He has a 09 renegade 800 and last year I had to work much harder than him to keep up with him. This year I was able to keep up with him with not much more effort than him it any at all. I will say though, the steering effort is increased and it gave me a workout.

Overall I'm very happy with what I've done so far... its just a shame I had to spend so much to get it to handle.

I'm glad to hear your happy with hygear, I just spent the coin on the sport x package. I should be picking up my stuff tomorrow.

You sound like you have drawn similar conclusions to me. I am happy it worked out well. What do you think of the CA XTX skis?

I love the ski's and find they fit the Nytro xtx perfectly. They bite much harder in all conditions and make the front end float well in the powder. They really shine when the trail isn't rock hard. They are not for people who don't like a shoulder workout though, I almost notice that instantly.
