I finally pulled the plug on the Hygear linkage kit together with the Float 3 Dual Pressure.
However, not 100% sure I got the shock dialled correctly, or whether the shock/DP is leaking... In the install instructions it said to submerge the shock after the DP kit is mounted, but since I was up at the cabin when installing it I couldn't check it for leaks...
I put the DP champer at approx 200 PSI and the shock at approx 120 PSI. Does this sound about right for a 200# rider? The Hygear instruction says around 200 PSI in the shock as well, sounds way too much to me. Btw, I meassured sag, and I got approx 1/3 sag with 120 PSI in the shock, so guess that is correct..?
After riding it a bit I noticed it bottomed out too easily, and when I reattached the pump to the DP champer, I had zero pressure (or at least that's what the pump read, might not have "connected" properly to the valve??). I'm not a big fan of these air shocks, but went for the DP kit because of the easy adjustability if I ride 2-up, which I do from time to time. Anyone else experiencing leak of these DP kits? If so, what's the fix?
Air shocks asaid, if I want to upgrade the rear shock, anyone with a good recommodation? Zbroz Exit X0, X1 or X2, Hygear Axis, Fox 1.5 Zero Pro, Elka stage 2, 4 or 5, any other? Does Öhlins have a shock for this skid? I don't have unlimited budget so a good allround shock that is better than a Float 3 (with DP kit) and works with the Hygear linkage kit.
Btw; I have a '15 XTX and ride maybe 70% trail, Fox QS3 front shocks and Curve skis.
