Just received a Hygear dual rate spring kit for the center shock on my 08 RTX. It appears the external reservoir hose needs to be removed to install the new spring. Is this right and if so I'm assuming the shock would need to be serviced. I guess I should have sent the shock to Hgear and had them do the install. I may have to drive up to Pioneer Performance to see if Bruce can help me out.

Figured it out. I couldn't get the crossover sleeve over the retaining washer so I thought it may install from the bottom. After talking to Hygear I discovered I was doing it right it's just a tight fit. Took a few pictures:

I have no idea where to start with the adjustments so I left the preload with about 3-4 threads showing which is what I had it set at with the OEM spring and the crossover is just past the mid point of the adjustment toward plush. I'm leaving the compression and rebound alone until I get a feel for this DR spring.

Did you ask Ross, at Hygear, for his recommendations on the settings? If not I would give him a call, he's the shock guru. I'd like to help you out but I've got an XTX, so I'm sure the settings are different.

I talked to Jon, I'm not sure how much help Hygear will be with my Pioneer Revalved shocks and the 128" skid relocate. I think I need to run the sled to see if I can fine tune it. If I'm struggling with the setup after I get some seat time then I can better convey my thoughts about what I'm feeling with the changes made. Hopefully we get some decent trail conditions soon so I can see what I have.
If i remember correctly the spring pack just gets snugged up on the preload Grizz.
