Hygear dual spring/ shock revalve experience?

Looking for any feedback/experience with the hygear dual spring rate upgrade for the stock mono shock. I'm not a heavy guy, but wondering if it's worth it for the anti-bottoming performance, or if just revalving will do the job. Anyone out there with one or both options?
 

I'm presuming you are considering this on your ER? I used their system on my 07 Attak GT (front shocks and rear Ohlins). Different shocks so... FWIW.

It was amazing on that sled! I tip the scale at about 225 lbs. geared up. The dual springs combined with their valving (specific to my weight and riding style) made my sled the best riding/handling sled in our group. Best improvement I made to it.
 
It's an RTX, so fox floats up front, adjustable mono in the back (not ohlins).

I have no complaints with the front. I'm going to leave those alone for now. But the rear needs big improvement for the big bumps.

Trying to decide if valving alone will do it or if I should spend the extra $300 for the dual springs as well.
 
Sorry, when writing up my last response I failed to look at your signature showing the RTX... My bad.

If the Mono shock has not yet been re-valved, that alone will make a big difference. Dual rate springs provide more adjustability and work as they advertise. If an additional $300.00 is not too much to swallow I believe it will give you the "best of the best".
 
I was also going to post the exact same question with regards to the "dual springs"

I had my shock revalved/rebuilt last year, (not by Hygear) and although it made a big difference, (not huge) I think it can still be better?
 
I had their whole trail pro package. The set up worked great. Depending how hard you ride you might want to reinforce where the the w arm connects to the rails. Since your not bottoming anymore, the stress is transferred to the skid and not your back. Give Hygear a call and talk to them, they're really nice guys and will explain everything to you. The only reason I went with a ZX2, was the hyfax issues, and rails bending. Plus there's no maintenance on a ZX2
 
Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll give both a try. Took the shock out today to send out. Pretty sure the adjuster wasn't even working, so I'm expecting a big improvement this season.
