Hygear suspension

anyone know if you have to pay duty when sending your shocks back and forth through the border?? Anyone know of a good shock builder in the Great White North?

They changed the duty fees on import snowmobile parts I believe. Last time I brought some Yamy stuff across, I didn't have to pay duty, only taxes.

Try shock-tec in Ont.

Try 'The ShocDoc' in Waterloo On. Rob has rebuilt my shocks for years, very resonable and great work. Tell him what you want and that is what you'll get. Website is shocdoc.ca

I tested a bunch of set ups for Shock Tec in the Fergus Ontario area..........you won't believe how well the rear of the sled works with a revalve.

Although my Nytro is ordered and I am waiting for it, I had HYGEAR set up my shocks on My Warrior and they know their stuff. Made me love my sled again. When I need shock work or advice they are the go to guys... ;)!

Makes me KNOW I was not the only one complaining all last winter :D And that all the marketing BS and other posts of how guys LOVE the handling just goes to show you, some of us DO know what were talking about and how a sled should work.

They are a shock company. They provide shock enhancements for Doo as well. Must mean Doo's have handling problems then too right?

Don't be ridiculous they're selling a product, and from what I hear its a pretty good product, but they are out there to make money so of course they're going to market what they have.

We were rebuilding my 08 FX Nytro's shocks buy early Nov last year. There was NO info nor parts from dealers, Yamaha reps or known shock tunners on tuning. Yes we called all the 'well known' shock tuners none had parts or info on changes needed to improve. While our first attempt of installing a multi staged valve stack was far better than stock, it still took a few times of rebuilding to get the stock shocks where they needed to be and react the way we wanted the shock to perform. I have said all along the stock valve stack IS very basic in the RTX rear skid. Almost any tuner can improve the ride charactoristics of the stock shock with simple valve stack changes. Even the custom Ohlins we had needed to be tweaked for the best overall ride.

Ross at Hygear is a GREAT guy, he'll treat you right. I had him do a full trail-pro mod on my MXZ X Shocks. They were too stiff for me, so i sent them back and he revalved them to my likings for free, not only once, but TWICE! He has a shock dyno that he learns all his info from, and has racers racing/jumping the sleds all summer on a wood chips track.
