For the riders out there using (rear suspension) Hygear Torsion Spring Spacers, please tell me if they're worth it. My wifes Phazer has the spring sitting on top of the punnie little bushing while the center of the spring is a couple of inches away. It would only make sense that the spring should be centered to allow maximum torsion to spread evenly across the fulcrum. If they are any good I'll probably get a set for my XTX to boot. So, what's your guys verdict?

I dont see why anyone wants there sled to not have sag.I prefer lower the better for handling. If it bottoms out then shocks need work.

my buddy put them on his nytro the beginning of this season and he is happy with them

I put a set in my 05 Vector along with the multi rate springs and my ride went south. Took the multi rates out and still bad, then got to looking at what those spacers were doing and seen that by centering the coil they were moving the contact point closer to the coil thereby changing the spring rate. Removed the spacers and got my ride back. Never did put the multi rates back in but they probably work. If your ride is way soft they might work but they will definetly make it stiffer at least they did on mine.

My XTX had to much sag stock, and seemed to sag more after miles, even with the spring set on full stiff. Would never sit static at the top of its travel. Installed Hygears spacers and it solved the problem, always is at the top of its travel when you grab the bumper and lift, even after 500+ miles. Yamaha should do this from the factory. Best $35 I ever spent on a sled.

I did them when I had the full workup done to my suspension (multi-rate front spring, valving, resis etc). I love how my sled rides now (I still have plenty of sag) however I question how much of the ride quality is due to those spacers...after looking at how they work and how the suspension works I noticed a problem. The bottom out stops (rubber block on the suspension rail) hit the round coil of the torsion springs when the sled bottoms out. Now hygear's spacers center that coil, thereby lowering it, and robbing you of a little bit of suspension travel (probably no more than an inch or so at best). I am half tempted to take them out and compare the ride however it is riding nicely as is so I am leaving them in.

The spring rate and the ride hieght is slightly increased by the spacer so travel most likely increased a bit due to the spacers. The spacer was the only mod I did to my rear suspension and it was a noticeable improvement in ride and travel.
