I have been having trouble getting answers from hygear with the preload setting for the mono , I have got both front and rear dual springs kits , I’m getting a straight up answer from them wondering if you could help me out

I already have that sheet , but was wondering if you back of the crossover all the way to check your preload
Im getting only getting around two rounds of preload on it and according to the sheet I’m getting the correct preload, but then when I raise my sled up the spring is looseI already have that sheet , but was wondering if you back of the crossover all the way to check your preload

Making me dust off my brain...lol...had this all figured out last year....I believe the small spring acts first, and the crossover stop engages the heavy spring. Crossover setting shouldn't matter, so set the sag to what it says, turning the knurled adjuster. Adjust crossover for sooner or later compression of the heavy spring.I already have that sheet , but was wondering if you back of the crossover all the way to check your preload

I’m not sure if they want the spring loose before I start or if they want a little tension on it

It's all coming back...lol. We did 2 of these last year, and here's what I did:View attachment 133986

Pick the back off the ground, slide the orange bumper on the shock shaft to the shock body. Gently sit on the sled, don't jump on it. Pick it back up and measure the distance from the shock body top to the orange bumper (the shock will compress and slide the bushing up the shaft.)
I set mine at 1.500 inches. 40 mm is about 1.57 and 45mm 1.7. After pounding it on some classic tug hill trails the groomers missed, the sag went to 1.7 or so, as it broke in, so I put it back to 1.5 and left it there. Use a scale to measure...I may have used a telescope gage and miked it,but I get carried away sometimes.

Glad I could help. The only thing left is fine tuning the crossover to keep the plush ride, but resist bottoming. I have to push on my spring a little to free up the adjuster nuts....they rub a tiny bit. The front? I went to gytr''s so I could adjust compression and rebound, and try to stay as soft as possible since the front never bottoms. I made some very tight sway bar bushings (13mm bar) so the pull on the opposite spring is instant with no slop; Ski leg bushings tight, and a little heel rubber under the spindles, behind the spindle...it really works as good as possible with what I have. I just have the standard shock on the front, I have about about a half inch of preload I’m thinking that is plenty. Again thanks!
