Love my '07 Apex. And I haven't even ridden it yet!

- 15 Viper STX DX red/white- GPS and KING AIR suspension 4kmiles
13 Apex XTX 45 anniversary RED/WHITE/BLACK 3K miles
10 Vector LTX Blue 9kmiles
11 Venture GT 4k miles
86 SnoScoot(2) for grand kids
I am so happy with my past Apex 14000 miles & Vectors total 18000 miles that despite riding the Doos, Poos and Cats (have a Viper in the family's sled pool) I am excited to start riding another Apex XTX.
Why?
I like trail riding fast and slow, hard (now much less than when I was younger) and easy. I like sleds that accelerate are smooth and RELIABLE.
Many want to emphasize weight - if deep snow was common it might be an issue but 1)rarely have deep snow and 2) the sleds do quite well in it- as good as a lighter sled NO. But good enough for that rare occasion.
My 2 cents

I want a power steering apex boosted or not but very hard to find here, so I may buy an 06 to 2010 and try to find power steering parts.

18,000 on a n 05 Warrior. 12,000 on an 11 Apex! Neither one even close to being worn out! Worst thing that ever happened to them was the surge in popularity and then the following disappointment, when they discovered they had bought the best stable trail sled ever built, not a ditch pickle! A sled you can ride for 10 years, not one you trade in every two like a disposable two stroke. Apex is a trail/lake racer sled that you can take off trail or ride in the ditch a bit! Those that bought them for that reason are Happy. The rest are now riding ditch pickles and still slamming the Apex for all the wrong reasons! That much negativity why would Yamaha build another sled!
Beginning of the winter season once the lake is frozen, I fire up the four cylinder and go for a ride to my Dads across the lake about a 25 mile ride. The smooth purr of the engine makes me smile so hard my face hurts. Its the best ride of the year on a fine tuned Swiss watch built in Japan! Yep its heavy, its overbuilt and its engine sounds like a F1 race car! Magic I'm in awe of every year! I'm old and can't keep up to those younger and or in better shape then me, I've lost interest in balls to the wall corner to corner, taking the inside on each one, hanging on the edge of control type riding. I meet those people from time to time and they scare me! I like touring more now and speed in its place. I like stability at speed, the purr of the engine fast or slow. I just like my Apex! No other sled out there does for me what it does!

LOL. Same here. Although I have had a ton of work to do to get it trail ready, I'm still very happy with it. I cannot wait to ride it this winter. None of these machines are perfect, so there's always issues, but when you look at overall reliability, I'll take Yamaha all day long...This is my third Yamaha, and I now want to move my sons to one as well.
