I think some of those sleds are just sleepers. Wife has a 2011 153 and I have a 162. Same crap was happening until I put a full hindle exhaust on. She still had just the super-Q exhaust. Beat her everytime and she is not scared to hold the nytro wide open either. All was good until my buddy supercharged his nytro and gave her his air box lid and Hauck fuel controller. Put it in without telling her and be dam if she hangs right with me. She looked at me and said I think my sled is fully broke in now. 
I waited a few days before I told her what we did. I know there is a evil grin on her face when she is riding beside me and looking right at me. I can't see it for the helmet but I know it is there 
.
The best thing is we ride together, and she loves the Nytro. More confidence on that sled then she did on her SXR 600. That was my biggest fear she would be able to handle it. Sometimes she scares the crap out of me with her confidence and I know the only way to get ahead of her if she gets the jump off the line is to stay in the throttle longer then her. Might be a gear swap coming up to slow her down a bit.

Wow, Great read sounds like fun in your house! Some would say that taking parts off your wife's sled to make yours faster would be low....... " All is fair in love and war especially in drag racing"
I would never tell her what you did but if you do get caught you could tell her that you did it because you were concerned about her safety,,,, sled reliability...... or you were testing the set up to improve her sled in the future for other mods and didn't want her to know as you wanted to surprise her?
