Yesterday the Wife and I took a ride in some very deep powder and I experienced the wet left boot thing. I just bought a pair of RU Outside Bill Townsend boots and by the end of the day My left foot was soaked and My right was also wet but not soaked. I bought these boots because My Wife has a pair the older RU Outside Bridger boots and she loves them because her feet are always warm and dry. Now here is the interesting part...I was riding My Apex and she was on the FX Nytro and here feet were bone dry!! When I was riding behind here I noticed that she had lots of snow on her right leg but no snow on her left because it was melting before it could stick to her suit but she never got wet. I never got wet with My Baffin boots so I'm thinking that those who are experiencing a wet left boot need waterproof boots and all these breathable boots are letting in water in. I'm not saying that the Nytro doesn't get your left boot wetter than your right, I'm just saying that even your left foot will get wet on the Apex also if your boots aren't waterproof.

2nd that, my right boot used to get wet when I had my Apex. Think its melting off brake rotor. Have new Klim boots with my Nytro, feet stay dry.

If you search this forum you will find all kinds of info that will help prevent a wet foot on both sides.

I just rode two days in the u.p., 400 miles and both days my left boot was wet. The same boots for the last 5 years and I have never had this problem. R.U. outside boots great warmth, my pants over my boots were soaked up to my calf. I have FX Yamaha rideing pants with a nylon inner that goes over my army pants. What seems to be the problem, before my first ride I thought you guys were crazy and needed some good boots.

You know what else is interesting...

I got towed last weekend on my MTX, and my left foot FROZE SOLID just from the cold air that was coming through that left footwell. My right foot was fine, warm, my left foot froze. There is a lot of air coming over those clutches and through the left footwell. Suffice to say, when the motor is running and the clutches are working, all that air turns hot and melts any snow it comes into contact with.

So our choices are a warm wet left foot when the sled is running or a frozen left foot when its not. :o|
I think if we have a good pair of waterproof boots then as long as the sled is running and we are not being towed everything should be OK. ;)!
