I found a mint Yamaha Nitro MTX for sale with 1200 miles. Single owner and currently sitting at a dealership. Looks mostly stock with a few odds and ends. Very clean and I can get it out the door for $3,700 which includes taxes and national Forest sticker. Just getting back into sleds and I have lots of motorcycles. Currently I own a 2001 Polaris 800 RMK but lots of little things keep going wrong with it.
Looking for something more reliable but don't want to go all in. I also own a lot of Yamaha motorcycles and I am an expert level dirt biker. Kind of an intermediate snowmobiler and looking to use this sled as a bit of a crossover sled. I live in one of the greatest places for snowmobiling in Colorado. Anyway thought I'd check in with the regulars on this forum about their thoughts. I hear a lot about the handling quiks and the weight. But regardless I am excited about the possibility of a thumper on the snow.
Also, do all of these sleds require the donut exhaust fix at some point?
I am an older fit rider and I don't plan to get overly adventurous in gnarly terrain. Thanks in advance!

Its a great sled and a very unique torque monster. At some point you will need copper donuts but other then that with it have only 1200 miles you should have many miles of trouble free riding.

when you go look at put a balled up rag or something over the exhaust outlet, if it doesn't stall it needs gaskets.

With 08 being the first year of the Nytro and I owned one, the sub frame will not have the reinforced gussets that were added in later years and may be something you will want to address.

This!! I would also look at a skid plate and different running boards. I had mountian tech inserts on my nytro and it made a world of difference! With 08 being the first year of the Nytro and I owned one, the sub frame will not have the reinforced gussets that were added in later years and may be something you will want to address.
