Why would the track move away from the upper wheels?[/quote]
As the skid/rear wheels travel up-wards into the tunnel, they move closer to the top (bottom) of the tunnel. Since the upper idlers do not move with skid, the track is pulled up and away from them as the rear wheels move higher into tunnel.
If you have a couple buddies sit on your sled to compress the suspension, and take a peek in there with a flash light. You'll see what I mean.
