I have the ski mounted scratchers from Hartman on my Mountain Max and they work well. You need to grind a groove on your ski to keep them in place when not using them. At least on Simmons skis you do. I did break one and sent it back to Hartman and he sent out a new pair right away. Good guy to deal with.

Just a little info on the scratchers. I do make the ski mounted scratchers. The ones Hartman sells are mine. The ones that went out early this year were the springs from John Deer. They didn't hold up. I had to have some made that were of better quality. The ones Craig had and has are mine. The old ones and the new ones. Tell me how the new ones are holding up Craig. You are my test pilot for these new ones that I had to order special.
I do have sets that fit the stock RX-1 skis, and I have them ready to go with the new springs. Let me know if any of you guys want some.

Silver Streak, That explaines why Tom sent me both scratchers when only one broke. I only have one trip out west on the new ones and didn't actually use them intentianally. They did pop off my skis a few times ( I need to make a deeper hole in the ski to secure them ) and I don't know how long they were down. Long enough to wear the paint off. The new spring seems to be stiffer as they are not fun to lift back onto the skis. I like the design and when I get a chance to use them more I will let you know what I think. Wish the mountains were closer.
