I rode my Vector GT yesterday. My only gripe was with the mirrors. I have PowerMadd handguards with the optional mirrrors.
I have not had the hand guards before, but put them on so I could mount the optional mirrors. My last sled had great mirrors and I am spoiled.
I did not like the hand guards because the get in the way when you are hunting for the brake lever. The primary reason I had my hands off the bars was I was trying to ge the mirrors adjusted.
The Yamaha parts manual shows two options--the Venture style, which look like the work well, and the 80's car-style. My past experience with the 80's car style is that everytime you jump a drift they "fall" down and get out of adjustment.
How well do the Venture style mirror work? Do they go under the Yamaha cover easily?
Has anyone come up with option with a smaller "footprint"? My preference would be to not put on the larger, Venture style mirrors, but I will if it is the best choice.
Thank you for the help.

If you don't like the schwinn mirror, i have the venture mirrors and i like them.
They are pretty solid, i don't think you will have a problem with them.

These are spotting mirrors if you want to go this small, I would like to see pics of these mounted if anyone has them.

There was a thread this sometime over the last month or so on those Yammi wind deflectors / mirrors mounted on a RS , can find it now , Royal Distributing has them for $ 40 or so . Try the search on mirrors or Royal Distributing , should show up then . Been planning on doing something on my '06 GT . Hope this helps .

Here's a pic of my Nytro with Venture style mirrors

venture mirrors went on the 05 rage, the veiw is real good, but do you like the look????that's the only drawback.
they pivot at the base so your cover can fit.
the other style offered from yammie, look like the standard mirors on the earlier v-max dlx. models.
they are a quality mirror and DON'T move on hard hits...not sure how they mount on the rs or vector hood.

My dealer mounted the Yamaha 8CR-W2628-00-00 mirrors on my Vector GT. As you can see in the picture, they mounted them so they are mostly tucked in behind the windshield flares. I've only been able to ride around my yard so far but they seem to offer a decent view and I don't think they will get jarred out of adjustment unless they loosen up considerably. They are quite stiff and almost difficult to adjust right now.

PM DaJudge , he has them on his Rage . They are the black bumps on the side of the hood just below the windsheild on his red Rage just above the yellow reflectors . I'm no computer expert , or I could pull those pix up and blow them up for a better veiw . Saw them on an RX-1 at the grass drags down the road this year . The guy said he liked them for spotting , but not a great veiw , wind deflection was good tho .

I agree 100%, best mirrors ever! Plus I like the sportbike styling they give the sled.

Oh yeah, I see them now. I guess I expected to see them up high on the sides of the wind sheild.
