mirrors on 08 vector

I ride an 05 vec and purchased a set of mirrors that the rs venture uses. They work and look the best, not to mention they fold back so my custom sled cover still fits!

Not sure if they would work on a 08 though?

I finally got the mirrors mounted on the side panels, after a few days of
locating a template, they do not work real well, you have too look under your arms to see anything. DO NOT BUY, i dont think anyone will be happy with how they function (part no. 8Fp-W2628-02)

installed those today, they are handlebar mount mirrors,i cut it in half, flattened it so it contact the windsheild and bolted it,you can adjust them, you dont see that much as they are small but as long as i see a light, its good enough, the only downfall, wich i forgot to check, stupid me,is the bars hit them when turning sharply,i will try to lenghten them somehow to fix the problem

how did you go about getting them from a canadian dealer

The Mirrors that mount on the cowl don't work very well, your always looking at your knees. If possible get the Mirrors SMA-MIROR-00-KT from Yamaha Canada these mount on the bars. The cost is $29.64 per pair Canadian, around $24.00 US.

Are these the mirrors you're talking about. I had saved this picture from a Vector I was looking to buy, but didn't. It at least shows where the mirrors were mounted.

these you put on the bars, can you put the cover on after or do they stick up too far and where you you put them thru?
I put these on my Vector: Yamaha SMA-8FTHB-MR-00
To use the cover, I loosen the jamb nut on the mirror stems and swing both mirrors inward. It only takes a few seconds. I previously had the hood mount mirrors and they interfered a bit with the cover. They didn't work very well either. The handlebar mount mirrors give a much better view and are not nearly as distracting to use, which means I check them more often.

jat59...they look like they are what I have been looking for, are they Yamaha and where you get them.
Thanks
Bob

I got them off Ebay. They were listed as a Polaris ATV mirror. I think any clamp on mirror would work just as well as long as the clamps are for the size handle bars that you have.

What year is your Vector. It looks just like my 2006 GT. I am asking because the Yamaha site for these mirrors says they will fit 08-09 Vectors. I want to be sure they will fit my 06. I bought the pair at the link below from Dennis Kirk and they came with no instructions. I didn't want to drill holes in the windshield and wasn't sure about the bracket so I sent them back.

Mine is an '06 GT also. I should have mentioned that I have different handlebars. They're the upgrade bars for an '06 Apex, and probably the same as '08 and newer Vectors. The stock '06 Vector bars might not have room inboard of the controls to mount these. I don't know. As long as there is about an inch of straight bar to mount the brackets, they should work. I was lucky that my dealer let me take these home to make sure I liked them before paying him. Here's a post from last year when I got them: link

How do you place an order with Yamaha Canada? I am at this site but see nowhere to buy the items.
