does any one know if there is a kit to add idler wheels on 06 rs venture i know yamaha makes a kit but it is $515.00 that sucks. looking for a cheaper way of doing that

Hey stealth bomber check out maximum performance or bender racing. I hear they have custom kits for your sled. Bender racing has ice scrapers that get attached to the rail near the track. Hear is one more idea there is a used parts snowmobile shop out side of utica where people bring there wrecked sleds and trade them in for cash maybe you can get the parts from there cheep. Its worth a try good luck.

I complained about the track howl and hyfax wear last year, so my dealer put on a set of Polaris wheels that are 1/8" larger OD. It reduces the noise significantly as well as really helps reduce hyfax wear.

Have 4,500 miles on the wheels and only had to replace one bearing this summer.

Hope this helps... ;)!

Forget Yamaha, they don't have a fix. Go with Hondo's fix. The season is tooooo short to be dealing with this problem. All my idler wheels were toast on my 05 Venture at the end of season last year. I waited till fall hoping Yamaha would come up with a fix. They put 06 rubberized wheels on and after my first big ride last weekend, one of them is already a mess, the rubber is stripping right off it. Now they're saying to go back to the 05 wheels - well I know they won't work. Give me a break.

maddogjeff did you install the polaris wheels yet and if so do you have a part #

I've had the wheels replaced three times under warranty. I just got them to install the aftermarket accessory wheels (just the inners) under warranty. They are very aware of the problems. If you push hard enough they will replace the wheels on their dime. My dealer also told me that for the 06 Venture, they will install the extra wheel accessory kits under warranty. This will give 4 more wheels - they hope it will help hyfax wear. Keep pushing and they'll pay for it. I need to call the factory to try to get them to offer that for the 05 as well.

but iam looking to add on idler wheels in the rear of the sled there is holes drilled out and everything but the kit from yamaha is $515.00 looking for a cheaper way of putting them on
