Go to start my 09 Nytro xtx today...and the key won't slide into the keyhole...at all.
Finally work it in after several attempts, but key won't turn. Again, after several tries, and liberal shots of Fluid Film, I'm able to cycle the fuel pump....but not able to turn key any further to start motor.
Wait for an hr or so for lube to penetrate around the slot...and still no turney.
Finally after working it for about 20 mins, I can turn key aftwr a few tries, and aleds starts.
Corroded ignition? 7 yr old switch with 2500 miles...could switch be worn out?
Ordered a new one anyway...for my one and only trip out this coming wkend.
This happen to anyone else....??

No it won't be corrosion in there. Never use wd 40 or the like in a key. Is your key worn at all? Try the spare if you have it.

Never had a spare in all the yrs Ive owned this sled....I do now though. Picked up a new ign switch tonight. Will test in am after work.
Dealer said the same thing about spraying stuff in there....oops.
My key and/or key hole may be worn...or Ive just lost contact in the switch. He said he's seen it a few times in the past.
Ill post back tomorrow night my results

I replaced my ignition switch $55.00 on my 09' this year. However I think my relays could also be getting weak I have not changed them over to the red ones yet. Hope to source them today at local auto shop. By the way if you don't swap over to your spare ignition key from time to time it will not work. When I sold my 08' the guy lost the primary key and attempted to use the new spare key and it would only turn on the fuel pump. Dealer see's this all the time, who knew.
