I've got a 2007 Phazer GT with $1000 in upgrades and only 600 miles that I tried to sell on ebay with a reserve of only $4999 and the hightest bid I got was $4300
I paid nearly $7000 for the sled plus the $1000 in accessories and I have lost nearly half the value - what happened to 4 strokes holding their value??
I have it on craigs list now- maybe I will have better luck.

Remember, you can't count accessories and taxes, shipping etc.
Almost always, changing your sled from stock depreciates the value quicker.
Resale on everything will be down after Christmas, until around March or so.

I can count it in the total amount I lost because it's still money out of my pocket .
If its only worth $4300 that means I lost $3700 and that equals out to paying $6.16 per MILE to own this sled with only 600 miles on it. And thats not including gas, insurance, oil change and new slides already.
Geez- I better stop before I get more depressed

Same thing here in Norway. Almoust impossible to sell this sleds... I had to trade my fx for a apex at my local dealer, was the only way to get a resonable price but I "lost" a lot of money.

That BS about 4 strokes holding their value better is pure marketing hype. This is a very expensive sport especially with the dwindling numbers, get used to it. Most expensive sport there is based on days of use. :ORC

The phazers 1st year troubles are going to hurt resale values as well.....

I just paid $5300 out the door for a 07 FX carry over - with all the updates including the fan, full warrentty... What would I pay $4999 for a used sled. You can not count add on's at the time you sell - your lucky if a dealer will take them into account if you trade.

My 07 FX is the funnest sled I've ever had..i'll never get rid of it, you got to love the price $4459 plus 228 tax. If Yamaha ever bumps the HP to 100 or so,then I'll buy another one.

Thats the other problem. Dealers giving non-current sleds away. Really screws the owners. One big reason GM's have poor resale. Funny, my dealer told me there's almost no profit in lower end sleds....

The first couple of years hurt depreciation the most. Ya have to keep them longer and use them or suffer the loss. This is true for most any motorsport product. Also, add on's usually add nothing to price maybe improve salability. I would pull the stuff of and sell it separatly.

Luckily I have no plans whatsoever of getting rid of my sled. I have had no bugs and It's perfect for me, and now getting the updates done I hope it'l run good for some years. And then i'll buy a supercharged Nytro ;-)

I feel you. I have no upgrades, but still over $7,000 with tax and cover and now a trade in of $4800.00. That is alot to lose so Im gonna just keep it too.

I have got $27,000 in my sled. Yea I live in an expensive country, and the $ value is low right now
Sale is no option right now. I would lose $7,000 overnight.
