I have been all over the board in the last few weeks with a new sled purchase to replace my 09 Nytro XTX.
I really had my heart set on the S-TX-DX because I have ridden two Viper XTX's and love the look of the longer track, although for my riding the long track is probably not necessary. I want to buy a 5+ yr keeper sled for me with everything on it ready to go when I pick it up and be happy with it out of the box. I'm looking at the DX because I don't want to constantly mess with shocks, like the taller windshield, and heated seat is a nice touch.
Anyhow, on a whim I almost bought a used 600mi 2014 AC 9000 RR today at a different dealership than I have been talking to as the sled was eat off of clean and had every accessory possible...plus looked mean as heck and the thought of having a turbo sled at a price in my wheelhouse was enticing for sure....but no warranty and having to pay all cash for a used 12k sled with tax kinda scared me off.
After walking away and rethinking wants vs needs I am now thinking the L-TX-DX would offer everything I want in a sled and puts me at the $$ amount that I was set on staying under with extended warranty, studs, and two bags.
My question is: Other than 4" more track, a bit deeper lug, and the tunnel rack....Is there something I am missing for the extra $500 other than the material items? Does the 141" S model handle better or worse than the L?...I'm mainly a 1000-1500mi per year MI trail rider and some field/ditch riding in Ohio when we have snow.
