Impressive weight if the info is correct on FX Nytro.

Why would you want a 136 on a Nytro? The sled is built for one purpose & one purpose only: Ditch banging. It aint no trail cruiser or trail breaker, it's for pounding bumps. A 136 would probably be ok but it would compromise what it was built for IMO.

136" sleds are not for boondocking and trail cruising only. You can make one hell of a mogul-basher with a 136" sled. My last two sleds have been longtrack models, and I've put on all the best dtich banging stuff ... and IMO make a better ditch and/or mogul basher than a 121"

I'm surprised at how many people in this sport still think that a 136" can be used only for boondocking or cruising. A 136" sled can be quite a performer and in many cases, work better than a 121" - even in the ditches and trashed out trails. I'll take a 136" sled over a 121" any day!

I'm with gade-thrasher. I guess you could say I'm a 136 convert. I had a Viper with the 121 and was looking for a Vector back in '05 when I came across one hell of a deal on the Rage I now have. I gotta tell you it handles any terrain the ol' viper could handle and then some! I'm hooked, it would be really hard for me to go back to a shorter skid. -- Stu

why did people extend SXr's seven years ago?

skid extentions are done for many reasons... banging thru ditches 100 percent of the time is not something I do nor ever want to do..

I need a sled that has power in deep snow when needed... power to pull me through 18 inches of slush on a lake immediately when needed,,, long enough track to boondock and or break new bush trails when required.... long enough track to hook up well when towing a sleigh full of supplies and gear,,,, a sled that will rock trails, rough or smooth....

and most of all,

an EFI so I can install a remote starter:)

Actually the Nytro is one hell of an impressive trail sled, not just a ditch banger. My impression in an hour and a half trail ride, switching between the various models, I could ride the Nytro faster than the other models with less effort.

Reason no 136 according to marketing, just way too many models in the Yamaha stable. Though next year you will prolly see it.

Just guessing that the shorter winters, and the fact that the other 3 manufacturers have 10s of thousands of unsold 06-07 sleds in warehouses set for blow out pricing, are factors in limiting the # of models.

I agree. I would just take off the ripsaw and put on a 1.5 paddle track.

Next year guys. I am sure the new motor will trickle down to the other models more suited for trail cruising.
