Has anyone tried the phillips driver in the stock Yamaha tool kit? Works like a charm unless they are already buggered up. I tried Snap-On #2+3 and they started to slip, broke out the tool kit that comes with the sled and lostened them no problem.

There has to be a better fastener. Does anyone know the trhead size?

There is a better fastener, it is made by Yamaha. It is the same thread (6mm x 1.0 pitch) as the RX1's, it has the same standoff, and same washer under the head. The head takes the typical 10mm hex socket though instead of the phillips. I do not have a part number but they come on the '07 Phazer and hold the side panels on just below the handlebars.

I've gone and replaced mine with stainless steel allen head screws. I was able to get them at my local hardware store.
