Greetings every one. Question? Which hose to put the inline heater on my 2012 Venture GT. The thermostat hose is nearly impossible to splice into without removing the oil tank. Any options here. Have a great season and be safe.

Can you take a picture of the area below the t-stat housing and post it here? I don't know if you're hoses are routed the same way as my 2014 Vector's are.

Yes, that would be the hose, but it is in behind the oil tank. In order to mount the coolant heater, as low as possible, would literally be impossible without removing the oil tank. Can this heater be installed in the heat exchanger hose as it would then heat up coolant in the overflow tank???????????

Unbolt the tank but leave the hoses attached. Should give you enough room to install the heater.

There is 2 models of engine cooling configurations - 1 with rad. #RS90GTZ/RE90LTGTZ and the RST90GTZ/RST90TFZ without. Mine is the second model, with the heat exchanger as a cooling mode.

Ok. Don't know if I've see that config. Post a pic from your sled's config, please.

I don't think its really a site requirement unless your posting in the classifieds but is nice to have it filled in.

As you can see it would be difficult to do but doable. Will get pic of heat exchanger hose, which is left of rad hose, and post it. It would be a lot easier to use the exchanger hose but the question is will it work??????

Just learning this sight after a long absence. Pic is my 71 Rupp rebuild. Did not run for 21 years, pulled her over, gassed up the cyls. and darn if she didn't start after 3 pulls. Rebuilt the engine and clutches, replaced the Keihin carb with a Tillie, replaced the bogie track with a Doo 15 inch slide suspension, recovered seat, repainted hood, installed electric start. Labour of love. Hope my Yammi is as good to me as the Rupp.

That is a tight squeeze. The heater works best if it can let the heated coolant go up. This will cause a "draw" in the coolant system as the heated coolant will rise and promotes circulation to warm the entire engine.
Removing the brake rotor will give you plenty of room to work and you should not have to worry about messing with the oil tank.

Yes it's a tight squeeze but that's where my heater is on my 05 Vector and our cooling systems are the same.

Guys, thanks for the heads up on the project, much appreciated. Assumed it must go there but had to have it confirmed by those who have "come before me with knowledge and experience".
