These are the new ones with the 3 way clicker. Going to fix these since they are defective and clicker does nothing on one front and the rear. Member here is letting me fix them since Yamaha doesn't have parts yet.
I still really like how easy and effective the valving is on these at least when they work!

If you look closely at the clicker valve there is two holes in side. One bigger than other. When you rotate the knob it allows oil to bypass through these holes. So big one is all the way soft, small is med and no hole is stiff. The clicker click is made by the pressure in shock. So if it loses pressure it's not going to click. That's nice since otherwise some may not know if the shock is bad. The valving on the clicker is there for a real big hit. Rebound on clicker is controlled by a tiny spring. Not really liking that part. I believe the issue is there and the shim fit of it. Will confirm tomorrow.

The internals are nice. High flow piston with oring under. It uses a bleed shim like the Evol race shock rather than a bleed hole so it's easy to change bleed. Two stage valving. Good quality bumpstop. New scraper. Not a brass oringed one like used to be used but not as cheesy as our standard shocks. We will see if it keeps water out. Also has a spacer in it. So these could be lengthened easily.

Sure do appreciate opportunity to dig into a brand new set of shocks. Don't want to mention name since warranty may be affected but Thank You for trusting me. Will have them fixed for sure.

Front defective clicker was a simple fix. They assembled it wrong. The rear however has a defective machined surface of the clicker piston. This is where the little shims on clicker seal against. No seal clicker wont do anything. Shame. 2 of 3 shocks on this sled were defective and those nice clickers did nothing.

So we fix it. Features of rear also has bleed shim rather than hole and these have a bleeder screw in floating piston which is really nice. 5/8 shaft. Great shock when done right!

Nice job! I looked on the Ridefox site last night and see that they make the RS3 for Floats and Evols too. Wonder what the cost would be for a kit to make the Float 3's an RS3 and skip the Hygear stuff??

Got out the old piece of glass I used to used for surfacing 2 stroke heads and walla no more defect shock and clicker now works perfectly. When this shock is out of sled on 3 I cannot hardly compress shock on 1 it easily compresses. I would say 2 is more toward soft side than hard. I dont see anyone other than a SnoX racer using hard unless trails are terrible. But its there. Still think these are going to be awesome shocks but everyone with them should make sure the clicker is actually doing something. There should be no doubt. From 1-3 is drastic change.

All ready to ship.

It would have to be the whole adjuster and eyelet. The Hygear stuff is enabling you to set ride height and run lower pressure in the main while not bottoming. Compression adjuster would help if valving was soft on your 3's but not same thing. As far as I know parts arent available yet for these either. Calling some people tomorrow though. I will ask price if available.

I wonder if they will make a kit to convert a set of Float 3 Evol RC2 shocks to the Evol QS3-R shocks? Looks like it is just a different upper mount with the 3 step clicker rather than the dual stage clicker. It is nice to say you have 20 clicks of high/low adjustment but when actually out riding I would rather have a fast/easy single very noticeable 3 click adjustment.

You the man Steve!

If you want to fine tune, those extra clicks are nice. But I do kinda agree that its a bit too much for varying trail conditions. I'd also like to see a kit for my FF3's

These shocks sound like the perfect match for me, "simple"! I do not see them on the Yamaha website, but Arctic Cat is selling them to fit the 2016 XF 7000 CrossTrek. Any reason why those would not fit my 137" LTX-DX Viper as well?

I think 5 or 6 clicks would have been a better choice. that and no oven timer knob.

5 would probably be ideal with soft/med soft/med/med firm, and firm settings. But heck once dialed in I don't have to mess with my 24 position clickers much.

Great info. I can't wait to try my sled out!

Well on those just a clicker would be nice instead of needing a full too chest to make changes. I am not sure why they show that pic when the Evol Rc's for the viper do not have the red clicker knobs and require a screwdriver and a wrench to make adjustments.

Parts arent available through Yamaha or Cat yet. Carver either. Will try Fox tomorrow. If they hit the valving right. And it sure seems so on these. Should be pretty impressive. Once parts are available I plan to try making the 3rd click a little less extreme. My bet is most people will only be using 3rd click once to try it and then sticking with one or 2. Would come in handy for those late week PA trails I rode last year though!

WHAT!!! the last time I rode there they were like Glass !!! OK broken glass on the highway maybe, but grooming is a new concept to them. We mostly rode the fire / logging trails in Potter and Tioga counties anyhow.
