Installing an Attack 20 track cut down for trails

I bought a couple of attack 20 tracks. I've cut one down to about 1 3/8" for trail riding. Question is, now that it is cut down, which direction should I install it - hillclimbing or powder. 95% of my riding will be groomed trail and ditch banging. I remember hearing about the braking being horrible when installed one way,
