Just got my new ripsaw 121X15X1.25 and have got the sled stripped, and here is my delema. There doesn't look to be enough room between the drivers and the heat exchanger protectors. Is there? What do you do? How do you remove those little welded bastards if you do have to take them off? Let me know. Also, anything I should check or be concerened about as I reassemble the sled?
Thanks,

Go ahead with your installation, there's enough room. Leave the heat exchangers in. I did the same thing last fall. I'm running 1.325 studs with 0 problems. Good luck
I was also worried about clearance, there is lots though, ive put 1400miles on since the ripsaw and studs and have 0 problems
Just keep your track tight.

Yamaha Dealer Tells me to cut and drill????
Hey, talked to my local yamaha dealer, and they tell me that you have to cut the front heat exchanger protectors and also drill out the ones that run the length of the sled. Is this true, or can I just put this 1.25 track in and call it good? Confused and tired, just want to ride this weekend.
Thanks,
Steve Burdick

Project complete
Well, the track is all in, and everything is buttoned up. Still doesn't look like enough room for the track to go by the tunnel protectors and heat exchanger protectors. I would love to hear from some others that have done the same thing? Is there anyone that did remove the tunnel protectors? Gonna let the locktite cure over night, then I am going to start her up tomorrow and adjust the track, and then head for the mountain on Saturday morning. Sure hope my wife doesn't have to pull me out of the woods on her 1990 Phazer. That would be embarassing.
Thanks,
Steve

Just curious
Does the 2004 RX1 have the same tunnel protectors and heat exchanger protector as the 2003 RX1? Just wondering it clearance is the same in both sleds.

EVERYBODY puts 1.25" tracks on. I sure as hell didn't rip out any heat exchanger protectors from mine!

While we are on the subject, just how much better is the Rip Saw?

Than what?
If you're comparing to the 9855, then I'd have to say *infinitely*. If you're comparing to the 9833, then I'd have to say *equivalent*. If you're comparing to a 2" finger track, I'd say *depends on the application*.

Sorry, compared to the stock track on my 03 shorty. Not sure what the numbers are. I'm not doing a new track anytime soon, just wondering what I'm missing.
