Since 2011 or so these machines came with power steering. I know Yamaha sells these front storage bags for these machines but with the added equipment in the nose compartment is this going to create any problems with the cooling of these parts. Does anything need to be done so that there is not a problem.

I have the nose bag on my 2013, with mini jumper cables and tow straps. Never had an issue with over 9500 miles. Might want to put some black tape on one of the bracket corners so to help prevent puncturing the bag. You will know what bracket when you look in there.

Had nose bags in my 2011’s since new with no issues

Good to hear as I was looking at putting the old Apex nose bag in and wondered about those cooling units. I will be putting it in thanks guys

Yup, I pulled my nose bag from my 2007 and dropped it right into the 2012. If you don't see the sharp edges, your fingers will find it the first time you try to stuff your full bag in there. Its the perfect place for the items you have with, but hardly ever use. (jumper cables, tow rope, fuses, relays etc)

Good luck!

The knucklebusting OEM bracket and stud arrangement to retain the electrical module seemed overkill imo, not sure what Yam was thinking there.
I made up a simple aluminum strap up and re-used the original rubber bumper to create more room and less chance of damaging items in the front (beers) etc.
I stuffed the jumper cables below the clear plastic pouch into the front of the bulkhead as well, little awkward to get at, but how many times do you need jumper cables vs a beer?
Cheers guys!

Good idea, going to make 1 of these ,thank's for the pictures. I love this site

I never covered anything under my bag in my 2011. Never had an issue, just make sure it's packed good and tight and it shouldn't move around much to do any damage to the bag.
