Picked up my rage, called my insurance agent and she said no problem.
Now I got a letter form her saying because of number of CC's they will not insure it. Any one else run into this problem?

Ask to speak to her supervisor, then her supervisor's supervisor, etc., until you get to someone with a brain who can understand that its not the CC's, its the horsepower.

Liberty Mutual and I went round and round on this until I told them it was a "600c.c. horsepower sled"(ambiguous enough for ya?). I have not heard from them since I signed the check and they sent me the documents

Just too bad that becasue of ignorance on there part that they lost 2500.00 a year on insurance for my family.

Had the same problem with Northern Mutual. They actually had to give special dispensation (sp?) when I bought my 97' 700 mm. I went throught the same speech as you guys did this year when I bought the rage and their response was they might have to reconsider their thinking in the future.
Found a different agent and company through my yamaha dealer. The company name is Foremost, it lists the administrative office as Grand Rapids, MI. It looks like I will end up changing everything else over to Auto Owners, but thanks for the heads up on Liberty, I'm going to give them a call.
I'm paying $301/yr for full coverage on the 05' Rage. 100/300, 50,000 property damage, 1,000 medical, $250 deductable on comp and collison.
Same coverage on the 97' 700 mm and it is $134.00
What kind of coverage do you have on the RX-1 for the rate you quoted?

Try TD insurance (the bank people) or President's choice insurance, if your stuck....I was quoted $80 for just liability for 2005 Rage, I think its $130 no collision, fire and theft, and liability.

I think insurance companies need to look at horsepower or comparing two to four strokes.
