Interesting comparisions between the phazer and sno-pro 500.

That was a nice comparison, though I don't find the phazer takes time to "spool up", I think the power it has is responsive.

I agree... the review did have a nice amount of detail. However, I have always felt the Phazer shows to best advantage on the low to mid-range, where the torque is very responsive. It's at the top-end (say, above 60-65 mph) where the power curve starts to even out and the response starts feeling 'flat.'

That's opposite of typical two-strokes (500-600 cc class) I ride, which aren't as fat on the bottom, but DO stay punchy on the top right until they max out.

I wish the would define "Spool up" as from 0-50mph my Phazer has faster throttle response than any other sled I've ever ridden, and my buddies Sno pro 500 is far less responsive in this reguard as it NEEDS to be wound up to be responsive. Almost opposite of what they discribe in the arctical.

Yeah the low and midrange torque is what the phazer is all about. Have no clue where they got their description from. Spool up to me means for top end which the phazer lacks on for sure. I think they got their wires crossed when they printed this story. I also thought the handling being about equal was probably off too. I have not rode a sno pro 500 but have ridden a 2012 sno pro procross chassis and it was far easier to corner and handled better than my phazer. The phazer takes much more rider input to get it to handle. Just my opinion. Still good to talk sleds in july.

I've ridden both, for cross country/trail duty I tend to like the sno-pro a bit better, for off trail the Phazer handles better hands down as it responds better to body english. In a drag race my phazer walks my buddies SP500 up to 70mph before he catches up and slowly passes me. From a 30mph roll I can still pull a sled or 2 before he starts reeling me in. From 50mph roll its even for a few seconds before he starts to pull away. Gas station, Phazer wins with quicker refuel times!
