Just saw a 2 minute clip on snow trax TV regarding this oil. Anybody out there using it? Claims it's made with a product called ester that bonds to cylinder walls better and holds its viscosity ratings vs tradition oils using wax and chemicals that break down, lose viscosity and don't bond. They also claim it improves overall performance and top end speeds of high revving 4 stroke motors. I went to there web site but not much info there that I could find. Interesting oil though.

No tune in mine, stock 18 Winder, gonna do the 500 mile service. Dan do you recommend Mobil 1 5w/30 for a stock Winder(that’s full synthetic correct?)
Or just stick with the Yamalube?

Just did my first change at 550 miles, lots pics in my build thread and videos of how to get ALL the oil out.
Just be sure to get the normal 5w30 M1.....not high mileage or extended life ect....Lots of pics in that thread of it, walmart has it cheap.

I would only worry about this if I always was starting my sled in minus 40 all the time.

What’s the difference between 0w-30, and 5w-30 with regard to cold weather starting??

Ok, went out and bought the Full Synthetic Mobil 1 5w-30, and the KN-147 K&N Oil Filter. Gonna go with this for the 500 mile oil change.
Wonder why Yamaha recommends semi-synthetic oil instead of full synthetic??

I have not run anything but full synthetic in EVERYTHING I own for maybe 20 yrs now....
Semi synthetic in this monster engine, not for me.
