irritating sound,maybe the steering

Sometimes i can hear a sound that i dont know where it is coming from.it sounds like two small steel tools slaming together ,or like something is loose and rattle.It is not the cluch rattle i mean.Could it be something in the steering because i have a slop both ways even forward and back.
Any one else have this sound.

Probably transfer rods. Back skid. Either that, or its your primary clutch upon OPENING (ie, not the rattle, but the actual opening)
