is a FPP Stage II rear mount apex kit any good?

any down falls? A lot of lag? it comes with a low/high boost switch?

Is this kit the real deal?

The kit is the real deal. There are quite a few TY members that own FPP sleds, would suggest to anyone to contact them to get their own opinions as well.

A few seasons ago I started out with their Stage II with a full built engine and recently upgraded to a stage 3 with a 2860 turbo and the dual outlet trail muffler.
The downfall is the price due to the complexity and components (not as much as an MCX) but the tradeoff is stock like reliability without cracking headers and having to cut the gas tank for clearance for a front mount. Going on the 4th season now with pump gas and have no blow-by from the breather.
I replaced my stock titanium Y-pipes with the stainless pipes during the install, still have to check the donuts every season like I had to when it was stock... Just got a set of copper donuts at the end of this season so that will solve that PITA next season.

No I don't feel it has alot of lag. Again, it's no Nytro when it comes to off-idle throttle response but neither is the stock Apex it's built upon. "Lag" on these has more to do with clutching then the turbo system design...
When trail riding on and off the throttle, the BOV does it's job so it's responsive. It has more lag then a supercharger, no question, but I found that on a snow packed trail it is actually quicker that way because it doesn't blitz the track immediately. I didn't realize how important that was until I was staying out front of the pack.

I know one of the stages comes with a bleed switch for high and low boost. I didn't use one initially, went with a Hallman RX but since I don't change or have to fine tune my boost, leave it set at 12 psi, I replaced it with a switch for either trail or full kill now.

I guess this sled for sale only has the head shim. No low compression pistions from what he tells me. Is this bad? Its dynoed at 248hp at 11lbs of boost with pump gas. Should it be a good sled? What would be a good price to pay for it? It has 4500 miles and 850 on turbo. Cosmetically it looks mint.

So you are looking at a sled that already has an FPP kit on it? My suggestion would be to contact Justin at FPP and speak with him about that particular sled, he'll gladly spend the time with you on the phone or email to discuss that sled and get an idea what upgrades it might have or might not have, etc. Answer all your questions about the head shim, power level, resale price...
