My understanding is that you have to remove the stock tank to change plugs also. I believe its because of the length of the plug caps.
Has anyone changed them without removing the tank?

Changed mine without removing tank or much anything else ....

I changed mine at the same time I cleaned my airbox. So at that point its just 4 bolts and you can slide your radiator out of the way and get to them from the top. I found it was easy to do the plugs this way.
