is the power programmer really necessary on vipers?

I keep reading about these autotune devices, would that work better since it accommodates to your exact sled and where can you find a good one at?

It can in the right hands. If you take time to learn how to use it the Autotune can make a great map without a dyno. Will it help? Idle for sure. Rest I dont know since I havent gotten one yet for Viper.

They are one of the good companies here. They arent ready yet. Hopefully soon. From what I heard its a real Technical Nightmare cracking that ECM. Lets let them do it right instead of being pushed into a half job because of demand. I havent missed a minute of riding waiting for any of mods I have done. Will do without till its ready and have a Blast while waiting. Hope all can do same.

I can not see why you could not lean it. Now mine is boosted but I jumped from 12.5 at wot to 14 by just changing muffler. I had to jump two numbers on my gems controller to get it back down. Less back pressure more fuel needed. Unless the viper is that rich from the get go.

It may be. Problem is all off map is not rich. Some may even be lean. I dont know since I dont have the AFR. All I know for sure is the tuner will give you a better idle after reflash by going RICHER in the area it idles. Rest is for the experts and those with AFR and Autotune to figure out.

I spoke with Keith woody and I have the demon cold air intake horns and mbrp header and race can and he told me with that setup it will be spot on with the air to fuel mixture. Now I'm just playing with the clutches. #killing1200's
