There is a lot of room under the engine...hmmmmmm!anywhere in the belly is subject to destruction to a blown belt...
and whatever it gets ahold of gets pulled into the tornado....and then ejected...
Id never have anything in its direct path ....the places destroyed by the belt is from the oem clutch guard all the way around to the back where your knee goes against the plastic from the side panel...
under the motor fine....other than that....on top of the the oem guard...yes..
windshield or tunnel bag.......or if you run a smaller muffler in the extra space provided there..
anywhere it can be grabbed COULD be a big mistake..

Use two zip ties flatten the belt out so it looks like a elongated 8 it will fit perfect above the clutch/belt guard. But you need to tuck it back into the knee/ tank plastics. In order for it to fit. No need for any clips or straps to hold it in.

And it has never got in the way - being in the nose ? Looks simple enough.
I concur with the previous comment about the belts blowing. If a blown belt gets a hold of a spare belt (mounted below) and knocks it out of place, possibly winding it up jamming the secondary - A lot of bad things can happen. From my experience belts seem to let go at WOT driving fast , never doing 50kph. lol

Fits nicely under the hood. One zip tie around the belt and one around the belt & intake tube.

I did. Now I have even more room without the belt in there...

I dont know...the edge of the rubber belt is serrated like a knife...
wouldn't want it up against my wiring , boost tubes, sensitive electronics or vacuum line...
and if I got the cold air intake to let more air in to my clutches also...why block the air?
my belt gets zip tied like the U shape and sits nicely in a tunnel bag...

I bought a belt clip from Royal Distributing for under $5 and riveted it under the clutch. Sits nice and flat.I just haven't had time to check much out, but is there a tool kit, and where does the spare belt go? I know the battery is under the seat, but that's about it!
Ok, found the cute little bag tool kit, but any ideas on a spare belt location? I'll look for a place tomorrow I suppose.

I’ll keep an eye out for wear. Good point! I think the way it’s secured though, that there will be little independent movement so I’m not expecting to find any wear.
The place I have it stowed seems to be out of the air flow.

That a great spot not gonna wear anything but might leave some small scratches. You could always zip tie small rubber spacer and then the belt

This works great on the viper, not side winder, the coolant tank is bolted to top of clutch guard.Use two zip ties flatten the belt out so it looks like a elongated 8 it will fit perfect above the clutch/belt guard.
