I can move rotate my secondary clutch forward and back two inches either way with the belt off. I changed my chain case oil last week.. and tightened the chain as per the manual? I know my Viper had a little bit of play. Is this much play in the chain case normal with chain tightened as per the owners manual? does it have something to do with the reverse? or do I have problems.. I drove the sled on the lawn and it worked fine.. and I was only able to tighten the chain a tiny bit from the dealer setup.. Do I have problems?

Yes, it's normal. All sleds with (Mechanical or "geared" reverse will have this or comparable freeplay to what you have.

My old Poo, my 06'RTX, and my buddies 04' Viper ER all have it.

You can sleep now.

thanks guys. My viper doesn't have reverse...I've never seen this much slack before.. thanks for the replys.. I love this site.

Its only with reverese, and its not really slack. Its the way the third gear locks into the gears. Your stopped when you shift into reverse so it dont hurt anything. Eric
