I doubt 125 out of the box, unless that is in kilometers per hour !! Owning one of those slime green sleds would be kinda of like making love to a fat chick. OK while your alone, but who would want to be caught out in public with one.

Went to the Ottawa sled show and talked to a Yamaha rep about the new APEX, great looking machine. He mentioned that it will have a 20 % boost in power in the mid-range and 10 % on top. That sounds great .We certainly don,t need more at the bottom. with all the torque that is already there. Is this what the test riders felt ? Wish I could of had a chance to ride one. Oh, and another observation, WHY WOULD CAT USE BABY DIAPER GREEN FOR THERE NEW COLOR ???. That was the talk of the show, but in such a bad way .

I heard that rep guy also saying it had 20% more torque in mid range, I sure would like to see this on a dyno print out!!! Maybe AC shoud have given out free beer to make the slime green look better!!!

Those lime greens run 125 out of the box..........

The only way a stock z1 turbo will go 125 mph, is you take it 2 miles strait up and drop strait down. None of the sstock ones around here will go that fast or near that fast. Only with a boodocker and race gas.

rode them saturday at cascade mtn. snow was soft and crappy, hard to judge power when you cant hook up at all. se must have been broken or way out of adjustment, cause it bottomed out on a dip when i was going about 30 mph. too bad cause the airshock is what i was there to try.

it may have not had enough air pressure in it. The yamaha rep at the demos i was at said that rear shock on the se costs 1800.00 or more to replace.. I lost interest in it right there, lol!

I didn't feel that the apex, apex se or apex xtx rode any different from one another. They all felt the same to me.

I'm sure you probably rode the exact sleds I did cause the reps said they were taking them that way. That se rode awesome when i was on it so i really think its broke, or doesn't have enough air in the shock.

I rode them all as well and thought the SE was a bit low on air, it did bottom out for me as well. The ride is very good on all Apex's, Yami MUST have fired thier shock guy cuz the Apex rides VERY good makes all the 10's seem like a pile of SH!T.

Catman, The Yamaha rep was telling us about how they cleaned up the motor on the dyno. said there were no more flaws, The band was now equal all the way across.

Riceburner, That is funny that you mention a drag race! lol.... We actually did that on the TY demo ride. We ran Snowdog's apex, which is stock but well taken care of and if most people who know Kurt can attest. The sled is hard to keep up with. Then we had Mr. Sled on the new Apex SE. We wanted to do a real world report and just see how ththe new engine improvements stood up. These guys were not going to let up for nothing and The new Apex ended up in the winning.
