When I bought my sled in january I ordered the medium windshield and side deflectors. The dealership had to order them for me. I had completely forgot about even ordering them ( busy with work and sledding). This spring when I went to go in and get what i needed so I can summerize the sled I remembered about them. I really don't need/want the windshield any more and I told them this. They told me that it had been past 30 days so they could not refund me. They fed me some line about how they don't know if it will fit 2010 sleds any more( which is bull because the nytro's are the same from 08 up)

My question is this, is this normal dealership policy? I did forget to check up on them, but the parts department never called me to tell me they were in. I'm going to go in and try to talk to them in person vs the phone, but I'm not one that makes a big sceene so I will probably just cave. They are the only dealership in a good distance so it makes no sense to spite them and get parts from another one.

I would say that this is not normal practice. That person that told you that is why Dealerships get a bad Reputation. If i had to guess The person that waited on you was one of a few things. Inexperienced, over worked, underpaid, had a bad day, or just did not care. I would go back speak with the parts manager explain what happened and things will more than likely go your way. Do not yell and demand anything, you may get what you want but will get a bad reputation with that dealership if you ever need anything else there.

If they wont give you your money back ask if you can get credit for something else. Most places will do this just to move their inventory. If they refuse then gladly grab your stuff with a smile and tell them you will be looking for a new dealer.Customers are getting hard to come by now and most places will do everything they can to keep your business. If you dont have another dealer close to you call Kevin at Port Yamaha. He is one of the best people to deal with. They do everthing they can to help you and with the discount most things can be shipped for less than what the dealer would charge you.
