Hey guys just letting you all know I jumped ship to Arctic Cat gonna givem a shot in the 4 stroke department. Its been fun here and Learned alot from other members regarding Yammy sleds and even made a couple friends. My 07 Attak was a awsum performer motor wise but I was sick of cold hands and breaking rear suspension parts. May be back someday if Green don't pan out so take care all and happy riding!

Good luck with your choice. Stop by sometime and let us know how you like it, etc. I know there are others who have switched to Cat and Doo, and still post here. Just because you switch doesn't mean you have to leave

I grew up a Yammi rider cause my father rode Yamaha's. I jumped ship to AC back in the '93 and returned to Yamaha in '01.

I understand why you jumped ship. I just hope, as I'm sure you do, that it was a wise move.
Yamaha...take note of the reason why he switched...not uncommon issues.

I also understand why you might make this move, but for Gods sake - Arctic Cat? I owned one, and not to brand bash, but I would never even consider buying one again. Not a chance. I would have gone 1200 4-Tek Doo if you needed 4S in another brand. JMO. It isn't just the quality of AC product I think is seriously suspect, but the dealers are in large part quite incompetent. Also, in this economy, if one brand is going to fail they'd be the prime candidate. Say good bye to resale value if that transpires.

Cat will never get my money again till they get rid of the Diamond Drive. I hope you have better luck and like the Z1 turbo better than I did.
You're Attak would be faster you know. My Z1 turbo would get outrun by the neighbors RX-1 stock. After I installed the Hijacker and meth injection it outrun his stocker but not his 195 HP Simons turboed RX-1 I set up years ago.
The Cat does ride, handle and look good. I wish you luck with it.
I'm trying the Ski-Doo XR1200 this year. Turbo kit is already in route.

I'm surprised you went to cat, should have tried the Doo 4-tech or the Polaris. Cat has had a lot of trouble with the Z1 A friend I ride with a couple times a year, bought a Z1 last year, keep it for less then 2 months, and traded it in. He got stranded four times on the trail in less then 6 weeks. Twice when I was with him. Sure ruined the day for me and him twice. Sure it rode and handled better then my Apex, but Cat reliability in the 4 strokes just plain sucks.

WOW!
I don't make statements about quality and performance unless there's a very good reason. I could expound on experiences that would blow your mind. No matter how much they would discount a sled, I'd never consider buying another one. It was that bad. I swear, every time I took that sled out something else went wrong. And the bad thing was, took me four dealers to fix a myriad of problems. I won't continue - sorry.

Good luck on the cat I would like to own one and give it a shot, just to cheap to get that new of sled.
If I had the money I would get a different sled every year and rotate all brands just get the latest and greatest.
Since I dont I have to settle on the SC apex that is cheap and paid for...
Be sure to come back and give a review.

Thanks Guys.... will post some info on new sled after a few rides. And the comments about being stranded on a yammy, just wait till your $400 W arm breaks at 90 mph and takes out track,w arm and transfer rod to the tune of $2000 . Changed umpteen idler wheels, froze my paws, Had to put up with track ratcheting, broke drive shaft and changed sliders twice oh and exhaust donuts leaking like a siv. all in 4500 miles. ! Yamaha has the best powerplant I have ever owned by FAR just a shame they can't make a chassis.

Just wait till you blow those $100 belts at 90, and the gas tank rubs thru and it burns to the ground. Don't ride without a friend with a two up seat and bring plenty of belts and you'll be OK. I owned one, I was the second owner. I got lucky and sold it. Three owners in less than three months! I read all the hoor stories on HCS and thought how bad can it be? I'm a 24 time ISR drag racing champ because I can make anything run, but I just couldn't keep throwing money after that pig. It was one of my worst seasons ever. Do your self a favor and think about finding someone that has to have one and unload it, you'll save yourself a lot of heartache. If your insistent on keeping it make sure you have good insurance. There prone to melting plastic, thats no kidding.
Mine came off the trailer and left me stranded before I left the house on the first ride. Hey, at least I never left the house! Their prone to burning up the CCU, (chassis control module)! This should have been my first clue as it was not a good start. A bad omen for sure, I won't tell you how an ice chunk went thru the tunnel, like they always do, and ripped the tunnel from the bulkhead on top the tunnel. I spent a lot of time repairing, rebuilding and modifying to make the sled decent.
They do ride and handle good, and thats about it.

Yeah right, Yam can't make a chassis, and your answer is to throw big money at the lowest quality sled out there. Albert Einstein jr? You'll see soon enough but I'm sure no admissions will be forthcoming.

i haven't jumped ship yet. but wife did. bought wife ski-doo 600 e-tec renegade. gas mileage excellent plus a 40 litre tank plus nice acc. tank. weight factor. so if she does not go riding with me i'll take her sled. dealer tells me i'll be back next year for a new one for me. just finished working on my sled tonight now just waiting for snow. let there be lots of snow and good riding to all
