Hello everyone just wanted to say thank you for all your help for the last 4 years. I sold my Yamaha and bought aArctic Cat crossfire this weekend. The deal was just too good to pass up. I may start a war here but I think all the manufacturers make a good sled it's just what you want a ride and local dealer support. I still have two warriors that ride in my group so I am sure I will be checking in from time to time and also try to give advice when I can help someone. This site is truly priceless to anyone that owns a Yamaha snowmobile thank you everyone!!!

I rode Cat before I bought my 05 Yami! Nothing the matter with Cat, its the two strokes I had issues with. But even with that thought in mind if Cat would have continued to build their 1000 tripple in a touring chassis I would have bought another one to replace my 2000 1000 Pantera. I really loved that motor!
In 05 the Yami 4 stroke won, it was not the sled I had nor even the sled I really wanted but the motor was and is to die for! I had more nit pick problems with my Yami then any Cat I ever owned. But the motors have never let me down, can't say that about the Cat!
I will say however in Yami's defense the 11 Apex XTX is an awesome sled that rivals on perfect. Has made me forget about any other sled in my past as none really compare.
Have fun with your Cat you'll love the chassis. Be good to that two stroke!

Truth be told I bought a 09 crossfire 8 with 400 miles on it and a ton of extras for $4500. I sold my warrior for $3700. I'll miss the warrior but I am looking forward to riding the cat.

I have a 03 rx1 and my wife has an 06 attack and I absolutly love the sleds but have always liked the look of the polaris 800 assault and finally sat on one yesterday at the dealer and tossed it around a bit and couldn't believe how light it was. Now it's got me thinking. Haven't drove one yet so I don't know how it would compare to the rx or apex but it is a sweet looking sled.

I ride with an assult in my group. it is very light and nimble and has no problem keeping up with the warrior. The fuel economy is exactly the same as my warrior as far as oil consumption goes he went through 1.5 gallons last year in 1600 miles

I have an 03 rx1 and that oil consuption sound about the same as my sled gets.LOL but I bet you my oil is alot cheaper than his.

Actually the oil isn't too badly priced. We have all switched to klotz and found a place to get it for $36 per gallon shipped to the house.

I have been sledless for two years after selling my 05 RX-1 to pay for dental work for my girlfriend. Started looking around for a used sled this fall and ended up getting a 2014 Indy 800. Hope it works out and we get snow soon. See ya on the trails.

- 2012 RS Venture GT (power steering doesn't work when real cold)
2006 Indy 500
Lots of good sleds out there. My present sled, a 2012 RS Venture GT has been good, except for a recall on the power steering.
My last RS Venture, a 2008, was a P.O.S. The engine took two years before it totally failed. Lots of trips to the dealer before it finally quit. It started acting the same way again when I traded it. At least the same dealer who fixed it the first time is responsible for it again.
My next sled will be an Arctic Cat as well. I rode a 2013 Turbo Touring. It steered as easy as mine, with a lot more zip, and a lot more options.
Yamaha is falling way behind in creature comforts.
