Is it safe to jump the Nytro with a reg pair of jumper cables, like the same one you would jump a car with , and also can u jump the Nytro with a vehicle, as in a car or a truck ? Or do you have to use another sled ? Thanks ....

any 12 volt system will be fine to jump the sled, from, i made a set of 8guage (10 ft long) with small clips on the ends to make them easy to store and use on the sled.

I found some atv jumper cables at fleet farm and wrapped them up real good in saran wrap and put them inside the tool bag. The tools and cables fit in the front of the XTX just fine.

I think if you use a car or truck you should just leave the car or truck turned off ............... this may be old school but that is how we always did it for motorcycles.

I bought a pair on ebay, mini jumper cables is what I searched. ten footers out of ten gauge, 4 inch clips... under 20 bucks shipped

i got the 10ga jumpers for xmas(score) but the had huge clips on them so i just cut them off and put on small ones i had laying around from napa now they are perfect, gonna try to cram them into the toolkit tonight lol! The clips on mine are small not even 2.5" from the tip to the end of the clip. pefect for sleds but useless for everything else i own, made a set of 00 guage cables from a school bus we wrecked, those are key gold no current drop on them!

This is a decent practice just because when a battery is dead trying to charge it with 100A+ alternator is rough on it, better to trickle charge the battery with a small current especially in the cold a dead battery could freeze up certainly hard on it then.

I have not tried to run my sled without a batt yet, will it even stay running with the EFI system running off the alternator of the sled alone? This would allow you to unhook the battery, start the sled from the truck or whatever with cables then with the sled running hook back up to the batt in the sled to start it charging.!?

I haven't gotten the ones I ordered yet, but putting smaller clips on might be a good idea if these ones are really big. Thanks for the idea

I had picked up a cheap set also, but when it was -40 and I needed a boost the covering cracked every couple inches.

I purchased the Yamaha set at the local dealer for $15US. Work perfectly and I have used them to jump our quads when the battery's died as well.
