I just bought a 2006 nytro with 800 miles and I am brand new to Yamaha and this site.
Was wondering if you guys like these sleds?

I need a higher windshield, I was told the windshield from a vector or RX1 would fit, is this true?

thanks for any info or tips you can give me.

Have been on a REV for 3 years

Congrats on the nytro. ;)! Don't know about the windshield (might have some interference from the handguards) but someone on here will. Its a nice sled, solid and reliable. 3100+ miles of smiles on mine so far.

Just make sure you get the suspension setup right or you'll be hating it. Also, get yourself a wheel kit or it will eat & melt slides like crazy.

Just look up the thread "trying to get my handling sorted" here in the Nytro General Talk section.

Yes, the Vector windshield fits.

thanks for the replies.

I have done alot of reading on here.

We will see if I like it. Hopefully can get it dialed in.

I read on here the RX1 windshield will fit as well, IS THIS RIGHT?

Any of the RX1 and the 2005-2007 RS Vector windshields should fit - same hood, same chassis.

yeah the vector windshield fits.

get a good pair of mits, it's a cold sled.

awesome toy

It's not a cold sled with the bigger windy on it. That helps alot. You might want to get the 07 handlebar update done, the 06 bar warmers aren't that great. Mine weren't all that bad, but some guys had real problems. You just need to get your hands out of the wind.

As I'm sure your read, the 4-stroke is different to drive than a 2 stroke sled. Stay easy on the gas coming into the corners, with a little brake while still in the gas, and the sled will handle much better. If you chop the throttle, and hammer it out of the corner, the tork of this motor will make ski lift. It takes a while to get used to this, but if you try it, it will work, and you'll like the handling alot better. After about 750 miles on mine, I like it more every time I ride it.

dooboy600 please fill in your profile location it's rquired by all members.Thank You

love mine- key is to set it up the right way and you will love it. Best of luck and welcome. I had the taller windshield from the Vector- worked fine.

I had mine out today for the first run, put 96 miles on, soft groomed trails. It seems very light on the front end. It bottoms on a few of the big bumps, but overall not too bad. It does not seem to have a great deal of power ( it is deceiving though)

What should it REV at full throttle?

My belt is running flush or a bit lower in the driven clutch, should it run higher?

How do you adjust these yammies for belt height?

Any other go faast tips?

my Nytro is just hitting near 700 miles, and it seems to be getting stronger than when it was new...

clutching should run about 9 grand out of the hole or at least that is where mine is running ,pulls good . to adjust your belt the secondarry has to come off the machine , three 8mm bolt on the back center of the clutch. install washers or remove to ad just belt height in secondary. your belt sounds like it's pretty good.... enjoy your neww hot rod, belts last alot longer on yamaha than doos... the only go fast tip is keep riding it,,the motor seems toget better with age
