Hey guys im new to this site and I finally got rid of my 08 skidoo xp just wasnt worth the money or hastle. I got an 07 apex se 162". Im looking for the best and cheap mods to do. First thing i needed to know is what is the best exhaust silencers and intake mods, but any other little things would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Throw away rear plastic rack, install Simmons Gen II Fexiskis (10" wide), if Fox floats on front pump 'em up, Monster-works riser bar system, left hand throttle for long side hills [I use Powermadd with thumb flipper(just personal preference), not sure if you can get anymore], taller windshield if ride in cold.
Make sure clutching is such that you stay off the rev limiter (11000rpm)
Setting for (10200 in powder, touching 10600-10800 on hardpack worked for me).
The carbed RX-1 benefitted from MBRP pipe, jetting, and clutching to pull at 10,800 rpm. The Apex is pretty crisp already as stock. Many might disagree with me but that's my storey...and I'm sticking to it.

Congrats on the Apex

Pretty sure most of the MTN guys went back to stock after trying the Ram Air setup.

Go for cheap weight loss IMHO
-l/w exhaust, TJ's (Lincoln County Customs now) is popular. Or build your own with a slip on off ebay for an R1.
l/w battery (WR 450 battery works good)
l/w rear susp drop brackets
Timbersled or Kmod rear suspension if funds allow
Get rid of rear rack and pick up a craigerbuilt gas thingy if you like to carry fuel. Saves like 7-8lbs for next to nothing.

Simmons skis are really popular but I've had good luck with the stock skis.
Don't know how tall you are, but I went with the RSI pivoting riser, a little more work than I thought to install, but love it, raised my bars about 2.5" and I didn't need a new throttle cable.

I was looking at some roc pivoting risers but im worried that I will need cable extensions, and im 6 feet tall. The risers are 2 inches and also what diameter are the handle bars?

i put Rox 2" risers on my 07 apex se, in didnt have to extend anything i just had to re-route some. watch the throttle cable closely, if it isnt just right, it will pull throttle when the steering is all the way right or left you'll go for an interesting ride, i found out the hard way.

weight loss:

timbersled drop brackets, and if your going with a different exhaust set up try to switch your heavy yamaha seat with a mountain mod seat.
