My first trip to the rockies was at boulder mountain in Revy and then spent 3 days at blue lake and Eagles pass in Sicamous. I stayed at Rene's Eagle Valley Lodge and while there Geoff Kyle was also staying there and shooting vid for slednecks. Both pretty cool guys.

I went there with my xtx that has a back country track, skinz boards, hurricane Hindle kit and Boss/rats clutching. I was surprised at how well this worked. It was no mountain sled as the bigger tracks and lugs were an advantage for sure. However a lack of power was not an issue. Once at elevation I was only reving at 7600 rpm and could have used more but again track speed was not an issue and the sled still wheelied with ease.

My biggest issue was getting stuck from a stand still and not being able to get as high through the trees as the bigger tracked buys could on the 160 plus tracks. So I am thinking of extending my skid to a 153 or 162. I would like the MTX approach angle as well. It looked as though the 162 tracks had a harder time negotiating the tight trees as us on the smaller tracks particullarly the 144". Is the 162 that much harder to throw around?

Should I be looking for a set of MTX rails or anyone know of extentions for a 144 conversion?

Anyone know of a MTX SE skid kicking around or am I better off with a timbersled or something similar?

i belive a mtx 153 is a 144 skid mounted farther back in the tunnel, the holes are in the tunnel on a xtx already

MTX 153" Skid

I have a 153" complete skid that I would sell.
