What is the top speed of a Nytro MTX?

I have the low gearing in my sled and with the 144x16x2.5(which I'm sure doesn't help) I top out about 60 mph. I didn't lose hardly any track speed from the track swap(only a couple mph) but the top speed suffered. Even with the track speed loss it still climbs better.

Do you guys think there'd be any negative effects to putting in the taller gearing? If it picked up some track speed it'd climb even better.

in waist deep im getting 100 kmh,not climbing but running down logging road turning 8500-8600rpm... hard pack trail 153kmh..9200rpm..im running 20-40 ..im thinking of dropping to a 19 on top,as i feel the gearing is tall for powder running..not sure if ill try it this year though

OK you guys, ACTUAL speed is a few miles an hour from real speed, Im running factory gearing with a cut track and i have hit 98Mph on the speedo quite often but with the gun its showing actual 92mph, without the track being cut you will never hit any faster speed, even with taller gearing, the track creates so much windage that it just wont pull any more speed, so for you guys saying ur hitting a hundred mile an hour at rev's any where over nine grand dont even bother putting it on here because its not possible STOCK

also i have ran many clutch combinations with different weights and if your reving anything over 8900 rpm you are losing speed. by the way this is at around 0 to 2000 feet. For the guys wanting more top speed , cut the track to 1 3/4 or smaller, and put a 22 or 23 tooth top gear in and you will gain a little speed

bcb i was getting 142-145kmh on speedo stock.20-40 gearing 8800-8900rpm.hardpack snow surface..after i did the exhaust and clutchkit i can get 153 kmh at 9200rpm,with the exhaust you can spin it a bit more..i could add weight to bring it down to 8800-9000rpm but then my deep snow rpms would drop as well,thats where i think the lower gearing would help,my 4 s is a little different than the 2s i had,on the 2s pk tq is at wfo so its easy to clutch for powder,where the 4s peak tq is at a lower rpm,thats why a huge drop from powder to trail....clutch experts can chime in here..lol..is this correct?

I probably put 3 or 4 hundred miles on with the stock gearing. I'm definitely not going back to the 20, but I really can't say how much the 19 helped me. It seems to hold tach better when climbing. I also think it just keeps running better and better as I get more miles on it. 800+ miles now. I had an old helix laying around 42/36 so I tried it out. The same time I did the helix change, I mounted the suspension in the upper hole and loosesned the track just a little. Doing these things, I went from being dead even with an 06 apex mtn to being able to continually pull away from it. Me belief is that the helix sped me up on the hardpack because I went from 9000rpm @ 39* to 8700rpm @ 42/36. When I get up high (9000') and in the powder, the 42/36 won't hold tach as well as the stock helix.

On the ponds and lakes 80 mph is pretty much it. Mine is stock with the low elevation clutching done. I expect I could get a few more miles out of it on hard pack.
