i tried pricing it out and once u order all the parts and breathers u need for the engine its a wash unless u can get filters at a discounted rate. need the prefilters too.

It's definitely worth to just buy Ulmers K&N set-up. I don't believe you can buy everything individually and come out ahead.

That's what I expected to find out but am still the type that likes to see what I can come up with. I have different connections that can sometimes hook me up with different parts I may need for custom stuff like this

Ulmer K&N kit comes with a set of adapters for the filters for tight installation around the bellows. I personally would not take any chances of having these shift or come loose by trying to alter them myself.

I think those adapters are just litle pieces of pvc

kind of related to this but are the k & n filters oil or not?
they are a white filter so I presume no oil
and how do you clean the pre filters

They are white till you oil them, which turns them that purplish color. I'm assuming to clean the prefilters you just blow them out backwards with compressed air
