What is the K&N oil filter PN# for the 3 cly MTX motor. Just got jabbed for the last time for $16.95 from Yamaha......Thanks

I know for a fact that a NAPA 1358 fits. It is a bit longer, so be sure to adjust oil level accordingly.

I believe the K & N number for this same filter is KN-204.

If you got "jabbed" at $16.95, what did I get when I paid $18.95? :o|

"BONED"....thanks

Ok got off my lazy butt and found this info at the K&N site

4 cyl= K&N 204 (longer)

3 cyl= K&N 147 (shorter than 204)

does this info sound correct?, and are they also interchangable?

There are a ton of them that are interchangable. It just depends on the thread size and outer diameter of the filter - I prefer a bit longer one if I gots the room for it.

i dont know for the amount that we need to change our oil filters i think that 16-18$ is pritty cheep and i think that every one should put in the new full synthetic oil.. mind you that stuff is 17-21$ lt pending were you are.....

I went with Mobil 1 full syn, as well as a full syn in the chaincase.

LOL....must be canadain

No offense but the American way is to not get ripped off! 16 to 18.00 for a 8.00 - 10.00 filter is a rip off I don't care who is selling it! Since we ride Yamaha they should give it to us at a reasonable price buying the sled and all. This is typical from the dealer.....or should I say "stealer". I like to be dealer loyal but if you can go down the road a few miles and buy it for half price your a fool not to!

4 cyl - kn303 or oem 5gh-13440-00-00

3 cyl - kn147 or oem 5dm-13440-00-00

They do not interchange. The 5dm filter is larger outside diameter than the 5gh.

As for the price, dealers dont set the price Yamaha does and the k&n filters are only a few dollars less. A gallon of 2-stroke oil costs more than an oem filter and the oil gets burnt in a few rides. the filter works for the whole season. Thats cheap in my book.

Thanks Rideblue, sorry if I came on a little strong there, I realize that Yamaha sets the pricing, it just seems that $18 + dollars for a dinky oil filter is a bit steep. Although in this sport we all know that most parts and accessories are priced at what the market will bear.
