K&N versus MPI filter

What boost controller is that you are using? How does that function? Looks like a spin adjuster... How does that compare to the std option air switch?
 
mbarryracing: Its a Hallman Pro; works great. I set the wastegate to 6 lbs with the controller turned all the way out. Every turn in is a pound of boost with the heavy spring.

It comes with 2 springs. Ted sells them.
 
Great, that is the detail I was exactly looking for. I want to eliminate the switch but was leary about being able to easily and quickly target the boost I wanted with a variable valve. This sounds like the ticket.

my idea was a silicone coupler with some pcv or abs tubing with a 90 degree bend in it, then out the back with the filter on the end

it would probably look identical to TT's sled
 
I know that would be best for fresh cool air but that would also greatly attract the unwanted attention of the DEC officers and such that patrol the local trails around here in WNY. They are handing out tickets for alterations to OEM intake and exhausts due to noise now.
I can see them being very curious about a big Ding-Dong hanging out the back... waive me over to inspect closer.
 
too bad we couldnt make some sort of shield to be able to mount the thing under the tunnel to keep it out of sight

but we are pretty well guaranteed that with track/suspension and debris as well as tons of snow, it is impossible to do

k guys so we have to figure out a stealth setup...thinkin caps on lol
 
I think an option would be to keep it in the location under the side cover like BigDog05 has his but shroud the filter from the turbo chamber and louver the side cover to let cool air in?
 
I tried the K&N out the past 3 days and I experienced no performance loss with it. I personally like the look and quality of the K&N better. A tighter fit than the MPI filter though.
