I was able to get a good deal on a F4 helmet at the snow show, now I'm in search of goggles. I've been searching on this site and made up my mind to go with 509 goggles. My question is has anybody ever used the 509 aviators in conjunction with an F4 helmet, or would the sinisters be a better fit? My other question would be what kind of balacavas you all use, and does anybody have or ever had one of the Yamaha Xtreme Helmet Mask? Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions!

I run a F4. I use the Klim covert balaclava, and when its cold cold I run a fleece neck warmer, I am 6'6 and wind gets me in the chin. The breath box on the F4 works really well, I use Scott 89XI gogles and have 0 complaints.

Thanks stopdropandroll. By breath box, do you mean that liittle piece that covers the vents in front? My helmet did not come with a box that you would put around your mouth, like on a modular.

Yes the peice that butts up to your nose in the beak of the helmet. Alot of MX style helmets do not have that, I find that it does a great job all on its own with no crazy "no fog" type balaclava.

Is this a piece that is sold separatley through Klim, as like I mentioned mine did not come with one. It's pretty much open from the goggles to the beak. Sorry for all the questions, for this is my first open face helmet. Thank you for all your help.

I use that exact set up! the F4 helmet and 509 sinister goggles. I have had 0 problems! I really like the set up, it is light, broad field of vision and I do not get cold. I have tried numerous goggles and I believe the best are 509's and second would be 89xti's. other than that, I would not waste your money!

It came with mine, did you get the summer liners and helmet bag with it?

No extra liners, but did get the fancy helmet bag. I also got the extra visor and that little piece that I had talked about that covers the front vents. Am I missing pieces? I bought it brand new from one of the vendors there, can't remember the name.

I just recently bought that exact setup. an orange klim f4 helmet and the 509 black ops goggles. I haven't used it yet but i am excited to.

as for the missing pieces. My klim helmet came with the helmet bag, visor, breath box, and the windstopper liner.

This is my set up too -- Klim F4 and Scott 89xi Turbo goggles. F4 is the best helmet out there IMHO and the Scott's fir on their perfectly.

Get those goggles...I have the same goggle/helmet setup and I love it.
That is the first helmet I have had that never feels too cold on your head but manages to keep your head from getting too hot and the goggles fit perfectly (and have yet to fog). I reccomend going with the auto tinting lens, tints just enough to take the edge off of the snow without being too dark to ride into a shaded area. The best part is they are clear at night which keeps visibility at the maximum level.

Klim F4 and 509's and I have never looked back. The Klim Belaclavas with Bib are a must as well if you are riding in -20 or so weather.

I do prefer the look of the aviators though!

Thanks guys for the input. 509 sinisters are on order. Can't wait for the snow to fly! Thank you all again for the help!
