krylon painted panels

Just another suggestion for those looking to paint their panels,
I was doing some research on painting the side panels on my FX Nytro.
Krylon was the route I was going to take until I went to NAPA and talked with their paint guy who suggested using their spray can products:
Commercial adhesion promotor (about $5-$6 for a big spray can and works as a flex additive as well)
White primer ($4-$5 a can)
Standard automotive acrylic spray paint (again $5-6 a can with a very tough finish I am told).

total cost for all was less than $40 and from what I saw it was very close to a professional, automotive, gloss finish.

As far as prep, I was told to do a quick scuff of the panels, wipe with acetone and start shooting. I will be doing this to my sled in the next few weeks and will post pix when done.

Kope out

Ive used krylon fusion on outside plastic pieces of my car, and as long as its clear coated, its pretty durable. I'm thinking about doing my red pannels a flat black with the stuff... Its quite easy to work with and makes it look pretty good for a rattle can job.

flat black is aweful,..dont do it... everyone is on a flat black sled...its played out..lol

yea i rode with a guy last year on a flatblack phazer noisy little bastard, had to keep him behind me as much as i could hahaha

Krylon is tough but it really needs to sit for a month before its hard enough to take any abuse. I did the rear plastics on mine to match the tan on the tank. It has held up for 2 years.
