I have a 2007 VK -PRO with 4300km's & noticed a squealing come from the suspension area. It turns out to be the 2 outside rear 7"axle wheels squawk only when turning. Took them off, bearings worked fine, regreased anyway & interchanged them to opposite sides. Still squawk so the idler rubber must have hardened because the noise is coming between where idler meets track. Has anybody else run into this? I figured I'd post this before I go ahead & order idler wheels. I bought machine used & have only put on 300kms, so I'm not sure if this is normal for this machine.

I changed the track on my Venture Lite and notice that the rear idler wheels squeak (at least the noise seems to be coming from that area) when first moving when cold but goes away after being warmed up. Don't know the cause - I changed tracks from the Ripsaw to a Crossover.

You could also check to ensure that your track is properly aligned and that the wheels are not rubbing on the rubber track guides.

The only time I remember having a rear idler squeak was when the track was too tight. Track tension and alignment would be the only things I'd be concerned with. If those check and the idlers still squeak? No big deal. It's not like you'll hear them when you're riding.

I've played with tension & alignment. I find it annoying because alot of times I ride slow with no helmet on. Your right no big deal just wanna know if this is the nature of the beast!!

Shoot some silicone on the contact area. That'll silence it for a while if it's a rubber-to-rubber thing. You'd think the snow would lubricate it and silence the squeak if it's rubber that's making the noise.
